Legal Requirements: we may access, preserve, and share your information in response to a legal request if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so. We may also access, preserve, and share information when we have a good faith belief it is necessary to detect, prevent and address fraud and other illegal activity; to protect ourselves, you and others, including as part of investigations; or to prevent death or imminent bodily harm.  

 

Online Marketing: we may use, and when appropriate, disclose your Personal Information for marketing and market research purposes to learn more about our users and offer and improve our Platforms. We will only contact you for direct marketing purposes in accordance with applicable laws. You may opt out of our use of Personal Information for marketing, market research, or direct marketing purposes at any time as set fourth below.

Aggregated Data: we may disclose aggregated, non-Personal Information about Platform users without restriction 

 

Business Transaction: If missINFORMED is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

How Long Do We Retain Data? 

 

We keep your Personal Information for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed as set out in this Privacy Policy. These periods vary depending on the nature of the information and your interaction with us.

We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes and enforce our legal agreements and policies. We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Product, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods.

When the purposes for which we processed your Personal Information have concluded, we will either permanently delete or destroy the relevant Personal Information or anonymize it, in a manner that ensures individuals are no longer identifiable.  

 

If you decide you no longer want an account with us, you can delete your account by submitting a request for deactivation. Requesting deactivation can be accomplished by emailing us at info@missinformed.ca. By deactivating, your account will be permanently deleted. This means, for example, that you won’t get messages or emails from us anymore. Once your information has been deleted, you will not be able to restore that information later. You should be aware that certain information about you may still be available on other users’ apps and will not be deleted by us.

Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches will never occur, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. You are responsible for helping to protect the security of your information by having a strong password unique to missINFORMED that you keep confidential and protecting your device. It is important that you protect and maintain your account’s security and immediately tell us of any unauthorized access or use of your account by sending an email to info@missinformed.ca

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Product ("Service Providers"), provide the Product on our behalf, perform Service-related services or assist us in analyzing how our Product is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Product.

Google Analytics. Google Analytics is an analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Product. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

our Platforms may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

our Platform does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children" or “Child”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any user under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
